DOES HYPNOSIS CHANGE THE BRAIN?

Amazingly hypnosis has been shown to produce changes in the brain. Research has shown that hypnosis can alter activity in various areas of the brain, including the prefrontal cortex, the insular and the anterior cingulate cortex. 

During hypnosis sessions, the brain can enter a state of heightened suggestibility and release laxation. This can allow for new neural connections to be formed and for existing ones to be strengthened. The power of hypnosis can also help to decrease activity in the amygdala. This is a part of the brain which is responsible for processing emotions, such as fear and anxiety.

Hypnosis causes significant changes in the brain.

Furthermore, research has shown that hypnosis can produce physical changes in brain activity and neural pathways which are associated with a number of psychological and physical conditions including chronic pain, anxiety and depression.

Although more research is required to fully understand the mechanisms which underly the effects of hypnosis on the brain, it is evident that hypnosis can produce measurable transformations in brain activity and can be considered a useful tool for promoting positive changes in both mental and physical health.
