WHAT IS CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPY?

Clinical hypnotherapy is a form of complementary therapy that uses hypnosis as a tool to enable individuals to overcome various emotional and psychological issues. It is often used alongside other forms of treatment, such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychotherapy or medication. During hypnosis, in a state of focused attention and relaxation, individuals are able to access their subconscious mind, where many of their thoughts, beliefs and emotions reside.

What is clinical hypnotherapy and what is it used to treat?

During your clinical hypnotherapy session, your trained therapist will use various techniques to gently guide you into a relaxed hypnotic state. Once you have reached this state, your therapist will help you to identify and address any underlying issues that may be contributing to the challenges you find yourself facing. These issues could include past traumas, negative thought patterns or perhaps unhealthy behaviours. Your therapist will use various techniques to help you overcome your issues. These may include suggestion therapy, which involves making positive suggestions to your subconscious mind to bring about positive change, or regression therapy, which involves you exploring past experiences in order to identify and address the root cause of your problems.

Here at OLIP Therapy, clinical hypnotherapy is used to help individuals with a wide range of conditions, including anxiety, stress, weight loss, depression, addiction, chronic pain, phobias and sleep disorders. Typically, clinical hypnotherapy is used in conjunction with other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) or psychotherapy, to provide a holistic approach to treatment.
